I am an artist currently working in Austin, Texas. I recently completed my MFA at the University of Texas at Austin, where I was also an assistant instructor and teacher's assistant.

My work revolves around the study of systems and the visual representation of information. I investigate the various methods of science, cartography, philosophy, poetry and visual art, all of which propose different systems of interpreting and recording phenomena. Between science and poetry, this is where I intend my work to operate: at once methodical and impulsive, objective and subjective, cerebral and emotional, and always inquisitive and searching. I am seeking unexpected convergences and compatibilities between otherwise disparate modes of understanding.

I tend to work on paper with a variety of both traditional and experimental media. Paper is compatible with the relationships I am establishing between my work and the document, map or book. Please see the portfolio link above to view a selection of my work.
